Training at Almost Home

  • We offer a variety of classes, with emphasis on teaching you how to train your dog.
  • We strive to teach you how to get and maintain your dog’s attention in our 2,500 sq. ft., climate controlled, indoor training room complete with recycled rubber floor.
  • We believe that dog training should be fun.  Therefore, we support positive re-inforcement training techniques for your dog  and NOT yelling, or using shock-, prong-, or choke-collars.

Some may say they guarantee results, but here at Almost Home, we believe that there are no guarantees in dog training. Instead, we promise to do our best to give you, the pet owner, the tools and knowledge to communicate and teach your dog.

Our Training Philosophy:

To provide the best quality and humane dog care and training in all phases while giving our owners knowledgeable advice and positive reinforcement instruction on living a safe and happy lifetime with their dog.  We promise a quality service at a fair price delivered with kindness, dignity and respect that will further the development of positive relationships between owners and their companion dogs.

All dogs must be in good health.  All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations.  Owners must submit written proof of Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella and Canine Influenza (CIV) vaccinations.  Monthly flea control is required.

We are proud to offer a 2,500 sq. ft. indoor training room in Jefferson County, equipped with rubber flooring for comfort and safety, training aids, and climate controlled year round.  Most classes are capped at 10-12 participating dogs to maximize individual attention.  Our classes last one hour for a six week period.  Classes will be Monday through Thursday evening and Saturday mornings.  There will be no classes held on major holidays.  If a regular class time falls on a holiday, make-up classes are (re-)scheduled.  Payment is due in full at first class.

Classes are based on skill levels and what you would like to learn with your dog.  If your dog begins a class and we feel that your dog should be in a different class, we are willing to look for a suitable change.
